A couple of options...
Option 1
Bright colored hose or tights (hot pink or yellow), with a mini-skirt.  Tease your hair really high with maybe a bow in it.  Wrestling boots or heels with leg warmers.  A t-shirt or sweatshirt with the collar cut out with your shoulder exposed.  And of course, lots of eye makeup.

Option 2
Designer jeans (Jordache, Calvin Klein, Gloria Vanderbilt, etc.)
with a blouse and feathered hair.

I'm a guy so I'm probably not a lot of help, but you at least have some kind of direction...

Another option is to dress like Madonna in her "Like a Virgin"  days: black fishnets, lycra, belts that hang below the waist, rubber bracelets, black bandana in the head, fingerless gloves.

Hope you had fun.  Usually when I see kids dressing up 80's, they tend to just throw everything together, mixing up stuff from 1982 and 1989.  It tends to look really bizzare.

Dress up like Minnie Pearl (Madonna, Molly Ringwald, and Cindy Lauper tried but didn't quite make it)!
