Subject: If U could only have 1 toy from the 80S....

Written By: BooBerryMuffin76 on 11/06/03 at 08:31 p.m.

Army Ants, Barbies, Cabbage Patch, Care Bears, He-Man/She-Ra, Hugabunch, JEM, Lady Lovely Locks, My Little Pony, My Pet Monster, Popples, Rainbow Brite, Sea Wee dolls, Smurfs, Strawberry Short Cake, Teenage Mutant Ninga Turtles, Wrinkles....

So many great choices! It's even hard for me, but if there was only one kind of toy that I could go back to playing again, I would choose My Little Pony. I would get all of them back and buy even more then before including the sea ponies. There was such a variety. Hmmm....maybe I should start a new collection.....

I actually collect a few 80's toys (CareBears, Jem, Rainbow Brite, Wuzzles) but I'd probably choose to have all Care Bears (I almost already do ;)) or all 12 of the Rose Petal Place dolls. :) I believe 5 or 6 of them were never mass released.

I had a few my little ponys, my fave was licketysplit. I remember my bedroom was kitted out in rainbow bright and I loved the care bears. My number one toy(which got tucked up with me every night) was a puffalump, a yellow thing with "Hug Me" on it's tummy. I still have it now and hope I always will. One day I may go into the loft and restuff it. ahh..
I remember that the puffalump brand was quite big in the uk when I was about seven, I saw a TV advert with this big wreseler who lost the match and all he wanted to do I cuddle I his puffalump in the ring!. I wished so much for one that christmas that I was over the moon when my wish came true.

It was released quickly after, but the concept was a bit different:

One could make a ball and other objects by twisting the squares appropriately.

I remember watching a commercial for it, and one clip had the four presidents on Mount Rushmore trying to solve it.

It actually isnt that difficult if you know what youre doing before you start.  I can do it in about 45 min or less, and I have a friend who does it in mabey 5 minutes  every time i give him one not quite sure how he does it, but he does it fast.

I would either take my colection of He-Man action figures (complete with castle grayskull and snake mountain), or a rubiks cube.

I am with you there on the He-Man "action" figures. They were much larger as if they were on steroids back then. Funny, I guess because I remember seeing the NEW line of He-Man action figures recently in the stores and they are much smaller. Another toy I wish, in a way, I still had were my line of Buck Rogers "action" figures. Remember that show? That was the best. Now it's real cheesy. Oh well. One more toy I really liked were the Voltron robot action figures.

HMMMMM!  There are too many to choose!  I loved my Speak and Spell, but I would have to say my one toy would be my old "Hot looks doll".  I forget her name but she came in a pink shirt I think and white tie uo shoes with pink metallic shoe strings.

I've change my mind about my toy. Instead of My Little Pony, it would be a little doll that lived in a flower (think Thumbelina), and when water would be poured into the pot, the petals would slowly open up. Unfortunately, the petals eventually stopped functioning.  :(

I have been looking like crazy for the Giant Tinker Toys, my favorite toy of the 80's.  This is the first site that even mentions it.  I actually have a picture of something I made with giant tinker toys when I was a kid.  If anyone knows where I could get them I would be enternally grateful!!!
