Subject: Tube Trivia

Written By: eightiesfan on 11/18/03 at 11:40 a.m.

Here's a couple of fun ones to ponder:

1) Which star of "Cheers" was a contestant on "Password Plus" in 1980, partnered with the great Lucille Ball?

2) Which tv legend hosted or co-hosted tv shows on all of the Big 3 networks in the mid-80's?

Any other clues for your 1st question? :)

This person was once married to a former Hardy Boy (not Shaun Cassidy, the other guy), so now you know that it was a female star from "Cheers"

Ah! That would be Kirstie Alley (who was married to Parker Stevenson -- messy, messy divorce)

Good job, rubixgirl! Kirstie Alley was a contestant on "Password Plus" as well as "Match Game" before she served up drinks at the place "where everybody knows your name"

Now here's a clue for question #2:

Lots of people like to ring in the New Year with this person!

Must be the forever-young Dick Clark!! 8)

Correct again!  From about 1983-86 Dick Clark hosted "American Bandstand" on ABC, "The $25,000 Pyramid" on CBS, and co-hosted (with Ed McMahon) "TV's Bloopers & Practical Jokes" on NBC; I don't think any other performer in the history of television has done that.

I don't think so either. Good trivia! :)
