Subject: Twilight Zone The Movie

I used to love most of this movie. The airplane scene scared me. I LOVED the old folks home scene..and the part where that woman supposently "hits" the boy with her car and she takes him home and he turns out to be like telepathicly violent or something and that one girl in the room that has no mouth or something and then the other girl he puts in the tv and she gets eaten or something by a cartoon and they eat peanut butter hamburgers

Yeah parts of that movie scared me to death - for years I wasnt worried about dying in a plane crash - but would always look at the wing to see if there was anything on it !!

I remember always confusing it with Creepshow as both were set out in similar story blocks.  So I cant remember if the cockroaches crawling out of the phone was Twilight or Creepshow !!

Unfortunately Twilight Zone became more famous for the lengthy court battles that followed its release after the death of Vic Morrow on set.

the cockroaches was creepshow

I remember the first time I rode on a plane being afraid of a gremlin on the wing... then again I was afraid of gremlins from the movie Gremlins

Great movie, with the classic eerie music and narration into the first act, Vic Morrow was brilliant. You know he and the little child he was carrying were killed making one of the scenes.

The kid in cartoonland was the scariest story.  Billy Mummy, who played the little boy in the original tv episode, made a cameo in the movie. He was the guy sitting at the counter who smashed the pinball game the kid was playing.

Who was that little girl on the plane, is she someone famous today?

You know I really liked the retirement home segment. Olly Olly Oxen Free!
Anywho, John Lithgow was the guy on the plane and William Shatner was in the original TZ ep on TV. And on one of the eps of Third Rock from the Sun, William Shatner flew in to see John Lithgow and JL asked "How was your trip" and WS said "It was fine except I thought I saw something out on the wing" and JL says "Me too!"  :D

I always thought John Lithgow should have had an Academy Award nomination for his performance.  He did a great job playing the freaked out passenger.

It was really sad about Vic Morrow too.  Plus I thought his segment was a really good lesson about hate and prejudice.  Put yourself in someone elses shoes and see what happens.

...and who can forget........"Do you want to see something really scary????"

Do you want to see something really scary -- Dan Ackroyd was great in that role. Creepy and funny too!
John Lithgow did an excellent job.

A little trivia: The girl who played the psychic kid's sister who gets eaten by the cartoon, is the voice for Bart Simpson.
