Subject: Pink'n'Grey

Went shopping and got scared at the mall.  ALOT of pink and grey stripes.  You remember those dresses, I'm sure: off the shoulder with a bit of flounce at the bottom.  I am sooo glad I'm too old to be tempted to wear it.  Gosh was that stuff is ugly!!  I wouldn't even wear it back then... okay, so I was a burnout, but hey!  Anyone excited to see this stuff again and would you wear it again?

My 15 year old daughter is wearing all the sort of stuff I used to wear!  I've given her lots of my old costume jewelry and one of those thick belts which you wore on your hips - she thinks it's fantastic.  Going shopping is getting scarier every year :-/

Have either of you read Bridget Jones Diary -The Edge of Reason (the second book)?

In it she goes looking for shoes one autumn and mentions getting a sense of deja vu - start of new school year buying shoes etc.  And then she realises that the shoes she was trying were exactly the same as the pair she pestered her mum to let her have years before.  Realises that the whole fashion industry is a con and that is why women start shopping at Country Casuals and the like.

Must see if my mum still has the pattern for a ra-ra skirt then

Ah,well!  We all know everything gets recycled but it was that pink and grey that did me in!  When I was tokin' little teen, I never did admit how much I adored 60's fashions.  I loved "To Sir With Love" just for the fashions....Which is funny becase in the movie Sydney Pointier points out to his teenage students how their clothes came straight from the 20's.   :)

My mom couldn't believe in the 80's that girls were wearing their krenilin (sp?) skirts on teh outside. (ala Madonna) Its weird when I hear the words that my parents used to say. "That's what I used to wear when I was a teenager"  :o

I used to wear pink'n'grey in the 80s, and ever since the new century has rolled in, I find myself wearing that colour combination again!
