Subject: Cartoon movie title....

Hi guys. I am looking for the title of a cartoon I saw when I was a kid. It was not a TV series, nor was it a well-known cartoon. I recall that the story revolved around a young boy who was trapped on a planet and was in a thorny forrest. On the edge of the forrest was a lake and giant mosquito-like aliens would come down and try to kill the boy. He befriends a cool alien with four legs and two arms and a hose like mouth. In the cartoon there were also white men with wings like angels, but they had no faces. Also there were two flying aliens who were born from a huge flower that was floating on a water's surface. Later we discover that the old man in the story is the little boy.
HHHHHHEEEEEELLLLLPPPP I am going nuts to find out and to locate the book and the movie itself.
