Subject: Eighties song

Written By: thepros on 01/16/04 at 11:49 p.m.

When rap just started out there was a song that combined rap and pop in the early to mid eighties. I think it was using the song "To be Real"  by Cheryl Lynn.  It had a line in there about Noxzema.  Does anyone know what the song is and who did it?

I know Blondie's rapture combined rap w/ rock. And so did Aerosmith's Walk This Way...don't know if that helps.

How 'bout Julie Brown, "Trapped in the Body of a White Girl," that's a great rap combo! ;D  That whole record's funny ("Trapped..."), also features "The Homecoming Queen's Got a Gun," and "I Like 'em Big and Stupid."
