I have an 80's day coming up at school.  What would be something really cool to wear on that day.  I am a girl :)

The possibilities are endless!!!!!! I wish I had more 80s days when I was in high school!!Here is just one idea...

Put your hair up in a high ponytail but to one side of your head. Find a sweatshirt that you don't wear very much, turn it inside out and rip the shoulder enough so that you can wear the sweatshirt off the shoulder. Then, you can wear a pair of jeans with the legs pegged. To peg your jeans- fold them around your ankle so they are tight, then start folding them upwards. Its hard to just explain without a visual. If someone else reads this, they might better explain it.

What you can also do is click on the In the 80s link at the top of this screen and go to that site. There is a section with really great costume ideas there.

One more thing, if you have the time, rent a couple of 80s movies, like Sixteen Candles , the Breakfast club, Fast Times at Ridgemont High, Valley Girl, or Pretty in Pink.

Watch one of those movies and you will have plenty of ideas.

Just wear a t-shirt, tight jeans, and and plain white Nike or Reebok sneakers.  Honestly, that's dressing 80's.  And it would be very accurate for circa 1981-'85.  For a guy anyway, but girls can wear guys clothes and get away with it.

Too many times when kids try and dress up 80's, they get it totally wrong, like That 80's Show, just throwing everything from every year of the 80's together.  Nobody in the actual 1980's dressed that way.  Every girl wasn't a Madonna wannabee, and every guy wasn't dressing like Don Johnson.  Those are stereotypes.

I used to wear tight pants (even tight around the ankles) long t-shirts (down past your butt) or loose sweatshirts with the sleeves pushed up. and puff up your hair. and lots of hairspray. puffing up your hair is combing it the wrong way.

Definetly "tight-roll" your pants!  And tease your bangs if you have any.  Another good example is to look at how Becky dresses on "Roseanne".
A jean jacket is also very 80's!  And a pair of Vans and two pairs of socks, two different colors. 8)
