I am embarassed to admit,I don't remember the exact day it happened. I overheard some classmates of mine talking about it in the cafeteria, a few days later. I had no idea what they were discussing, and one of my friends had to update me. :- He then explained one day at lunch that this nuclear accident happened somewhere in Russia, and I was amazed! It was my senior year in high school, and I had such a tough schedule of classes,I did not have much time to watch the news on TV. Sincerely,Steve.

I definitely do not remember it happening - even though I was in France at the time, with fears of a big radioactive cloud approaching!

I was on a tour with my school's choir and orchestra and we were probably running around Paris somewhere. It was only when we touched down back in Sydney that some of us heard about it! (smarter kids already knew from the newspaper headlines, but I was a rather unobservant little fella, and the teachers decided not to panic us unnecessarily)
