Subject: 3 O'Clock High  (the movie)

Written By: Cheetara on 02/02/04 at 04:30 p.m.

Does anyone remember this movie called "3 O'Clock High"?  I thought it was hilarious.  I saw it again recently and remembered that it was one of my favorite 80s flicks.

Remember the bully didn't like to be touched.  LOL

Oh what a good call, that flick is hilarious!!!  The guy who's being bullied played Charlie in Young Guns. Now I must find this and watch it, haven't seen it in  years, only small details are coming to mind. Mostly the people buying all the sheets of paper, even tho that's not any the hilarious parts.

Oh have I gotta find this, eBay here I come >>>>>>>>

One of my favorite movies was Martin Scorcese's After Hours.  Somebody compared the suspense in Three 0'Clock High to the suspense in After Hours, then my sister got the idea it was LIKE After Hours, and recommended it to me.  I was totally disappointed, not because Three O'Clock High was a bad movie, but because it wasn't what I expected.  :(

Yeah, he was a "touch freak"  :D LOL

It was also funny when he was sitting in class, nervous as hell about the fight, and then a science nature movie comes on showing a bug being crushed and eaten by a larger insect...

I haven't seen that movie in quite a while.  I wasn't sure what to expect when I first started watching it.  But I thought it was an ok movie, I actually kinda liked it.

I rented it because there was a 3 movies for $3 deal going on at the video store I went to at the time.  I remember it because I was renting "Amazon Women On The Moon" and "Top Secret" and I needed a 3rd movie to add to the deal ("Police Squad" was out at the time  :().

Yes he was, he played the abusive father.  I always thought that he should have played Jim Morrison instead of Val Kilmer.

Yeah he looks like Jim Morrison... he probably could of pulled it off better than Val Kilmer.  Yeah I saw this movie 3OCH recently, laughed as I started to remember the scenes in the flick.

That bully should have been in a Nightmare on Elm Street movie...I bet Freddy would have done more than touched him...  lol  haaaaaaaaaaaa

*razors screeching*

Getting bad recommednations sucks! :(
'Three 0'Clock High' is definitely nothing like 'After Hours'. I do like both of them though.

Oddly enough I was just talking about 'After Hours' last week with a friend who'd never seen it!

Also 'Three O'Clock High' was filmed at a high school a couple miles from where I was stationed in the Air Force in Utah. I went there and watched them film a little bit of it but I didn't get to be an extra!  >:(

this movie always gets my blood boiling. i hate bullies, i love to see them get what they deserve. there was a bully in my school who looked somewhat like that bully; brutish looking, ugly with no personality. unlike our hero in the movie, i never had my chance to strike back...

You were stationed at Hill?  I grew up in Brigham about 20 minutes from the high school.

A little OT, but the school it was filmed in is at the center of a controversy today.  They are trying to update all the schools but people don't want that one changed...it is a gorgeous school.  All the architecture is still the same.

Sure was, in the 80’s.
After I figured out how “un-military” the Air Force was there, I got pretty crazy and spent most of my time off base. I used to go up to Ogden hang out with some people at Weber (State College then) University. And I used to go out to a great dance club in Provo (of all places) called Plastique around ’86-‘87. I pretty much got around everywhere but mostly in SLC and Park City. Clubbing at Xenon, the Bay and the Palladium in SLC & The Club and Z-Place (original names huh?) in Park City.
Ah yes…Pizza @ the Pie, sandwiches at Bandaloops, gigs at the Speedway, clothes etc, from the old Grunts and Postures, coffee @ the SL Roasting Company. I used to go to concerts at the outdoor Amphitheatre in Park West, which doesn’t even exist anymore.

And on and on… Wow a serious trip down memory lane!

Actually I went back to Utah last year for the 1st time in 13 years to visit some friends that I’d kept in touch with. I was amazed at how much had changed!
