Subject: Any Sugarcubes/Björk fans here?

Written By: Izod on 02/15/04 at 10:32 p.m.

The Icelandic group Sugarcubes formed in 1986, & I remember a few of my high school friends had the "Life's Too Good" cassette tape. I actually didn't really listen to the Sugarcubes until the early '90s (when they released "Hit"). After that - I was hooked, & then bought all their stuff (which is awesome!). Not too long after that of course Björk started her solo career...which needlessly to say - she has done some amazing stuff!

The Sugarcubes were great. My favorite songs are "Delicious Demon" & "Birthday". I also like some of Bjork's solo material ("Human Behavior", "Bachelorette", "Army Of Me", and "It's Oh So Quiet") along with her great music videos.  8)

"Life's Too Good" was one of my favorites of '88-'89, and Bjork is an amazing songwriter/performer. :)

I was a Sugarcubes fan when they first rose to fame in the late 80's. I've since been a big fan of Björk as well. She's an amazing talent and all round "weird" woman. It just doesn't get much better that!  ;D

here's a quote from a female dj after playing "Regina" --Sugarcubes.. "That's what you get when elves mate!"
I thought Regina was fabulously creative. And I love Bjorks song, I Miss you!  I love the fact that she misses YOU but hasn't met you yet. It's so true!
We miss the companionship of "the 1" when we haven't met him/her yet!
And I appreciate the video for "oh so Quiet".
Anyone seen the show on HBO "Reverb"? I saw one that highlighted her in a small concert in a NYC church with a chorus of singers to back her up, and she played a music box for one song and wore this dress of large white and black diamond? shapes.  Then the second half of the show was a band from Sweden or also Iceland and they don't speak in real sentences but rather the words that they speak make "feeling" for the songs, and one of the guys plays a saw with a bow. It was cool. Sadly I can't recall who they were/are.  But they had fans at this show when it was taped.

Yeah, "It's Oh So Quiet" is one of my favorites too. Director Spike Jonze has done some great work over the years!

I didn't catch the show on HBO "Reverb", but that performance you mentioned sounds alot like a performance I saw of hers on the David Letterman Show.
