Yes!  I loved those.  There was also another kind of pop that I liked.  I believe they were Kool-Aid pops but I can't be certain.
Other foods to bring back:
~Chocobliss cake
~A gummy candy that came in a plastic mold that you would peel out and eat.  They were in the shape of bugs.  I don't remember what they were called.
~Lick 'em Aid candy powder with the white dipping stick.  Do they still make this?

This is an easy one.  Do you remember when Wendy's used to have a dessert called the "Apple Dumpling"?
It was a phenomenal baked apple pastry that Wendy's used to serve as a dessert in their restaurants in the 1980's.
It came with a caramel glaze on the top, and served hot.
Believe me, it was the most orgasmic dessert I have ever had!
Of course, Wendy's discontinued this great dessert for some bizarre reason, and I have been very unhappy for the last 15 years. I sure wish I had one right now. I am still mad at Wendy's for getting rid of this great and tasty dessert.  :'(
Does anyone out there know where this yummy dessert can be found anywhere else?
Please let me know!!!!!!!!!      :D   ;D

i'm not sure if i remember the ice cream cereal, but i definitel remember something similar that i used to love! i actually looked for the these in the grocery store lately but couldn't find them. they were ice cream cones, but they were much smaller than normal ones, and instead of ice cream in it, it was more like a foamy marshmallow.  anyone remember these? they came like 12 to a pack or something.  mmmm they were so good. my mom always used to have those for my brother and i at birthday parties..i miss being a kid!!!!

another thing I miss from the 80's is a candy that I think was called Zonkers or something like that...and it was a chocolate tube rolled in nuts or something and had peanut butter in the middle..i remember eating these watching Webster.  oh, those times were fabulous!

also I'd LOVE to see a comeback of Jello Pudding Pops...everybody loved them! why did they ever get rid of them?

the rest:
bazooka gum
tattoo gum (anyone remember this??)
fizzie candy (I can't remember what it was called, but you bit into it and it was really fizzy)
freshen up gum

Remember Hostess Pudding Pies where they had either chocolate or vanilla filling and the pie crust was covered in chocolate? Makes your mouth water right about now, doesn't it?  Hostess also had pudding filled cupcakes for a short time in the late 80's.  :D

Kentucky Fried Chicken's Fruit Tarts

Sugar Mama -

It was made by the same company that makes Sugar Daddy and was almost exactly like them, except these had a fudge covering.

The wrappers for Sugar Daddy are yellow with red lettering.

I just remembered another snack food that I looooovveed.  They were ranch flavored corn chips put out by Pringles in the late 80's possibly 1989.  They came in a teal canister.  I could sit and eat the entire canister in one sitting they were that good.

Yeah but what I didn't like about that is that if you got it with cheese, they'd put the cheese on the COLD SIDE! I wanted the cheese HOT- melted on the burger!
I remember it came in those styrofoam containers that were bad for environment!

Also remember that Burger King came out with Crossanwiches in the 80's- are they still around?

Stella Doro made these things called Kechels (sp?) They were square and curvy, a very light snack cookie (but not real sweet they were closer to a bread or a cracker) made with a lot of egg, they came in a bag, I really miss them.

So...when you asked them to put the cheese on the hot side, did they follow your instructions, or did they just stand there and stare dumbly?  I find this is a widely practiced customer service technique.  Look clueless enough and your nuisance customer will feel pangs of pity and sheepishly slink away!

It was a sad day when McD's did away with my beloved styrofoam!  Consolation is never far off, though.  Every day I go to my local Dunkin' Donuts (one of five of them, that is) ans order up a big coffee.  As I imbibe the blessed blend of caffeine, sugar, and cream, I feel proud that the cup I hold in my hand--my cup--will survive for millennia after I have turned to dust!

Remember, in the '80s, when Dunkin' Donuts launched "The Big One"?

BTW, circa 1991, McDonald's attempted a jump onto the recycling bandwagon.  They installed separate recepticals for paper, cardboard, and non-recyclables.  Didn't work.  We  don't go to McD's to become conscientous eco-citizens.  We go to McD's to stuff it down, throw it out, and leave!

Bring back the tan M&M's!!!!  They took away my favorite and made it Blue!  Not many things colored blue that I can rightly ingest. The Tan ones always tasted best. Nobody else wanted them, I took them all. Traded most of my yellow ones (kept the greens for Thursdays!) for the tans.

.....ok I'll come down now! I just never had a forum that I could truly vent my frustrations before on this major subject. I mean they didn't even ask me before they did it.  By the way, thanks to whomever started this thread. I just saved myself some serious therapist payments. I feel better.  :)  Take care all! LOL!

Good news to those who love Pudding Pops! I was in the supermarket the other day and I saw some in the ice cream section - Jello Pudding Pops are being made through the folks that make popsicles and fudgesicles. They had a variety pack with chocolate, vanilla, and chocolate/vanilla swirl. Since they contain 15 carbs, I might even feel tempted to cheat once in a while. (One of the things I always liked about them was that they were always much smoother and creamier than the regular fudgesicles.)  :) :D

I'm not sure, but it could possibly have had something to do with marketing. The VHS, I believe, was marketed better, had better advertising for whatever reason. My family didn't catch on to the VHS craze 'til later on because I have stuff on BETA dating as late as 1989. However, we were the first on the block with a Betamax machine and a video camera!! :D

What you can jam we call jelly.  Jello, or Jell-O, is a brand name for flavored (sorry, flavoured) gelatin, which I thought the British called "jelly."  Incidentally, I prefer the word "jam" to "jelly."  Jello pudding pops had nothing to do with gelatin.  The Jello company also marketed a popular powdered pudding mix.  Again, very sweet, and in many flavors.  Sometime in the early '80s, they decided to market frozen pudding on a stick.  They got Bill Cosby to pitch, and the Jello Pudding Pop phenomenon was on!
7-Up adverts never specified a particular cola.  The slogan for 7-up was "The Uncola."  The angle was that 7-Up was lighter, and more refreshing than cola, and contained no caffeine.  As the big, bald Jamaican guy in the commercial used to say, "Never had it, never will, ha ha ha!"
Coca-Cola recently started marketing Tab again, after a 15 (?) year hiatus.  The beverage market has offered so many more products since the '80s that I don't know why anybody would buy Tab in all its saccharine awfulness, except for a joke maybe.

Squeeze pops is a candy I discovered a bit later in the 80's...it is a flavored syrup in a toothpast type plastic squeeze tube that you squeeze out the liquid and lick it off of the top.  Of course any real squeeze pop junky will tell you the best way to eat it is to hold it about a foot aboth you mouth, with head tilted back so mouth faces the ceiling and squeeze large amounts of th delicious, viscous liquid into mouth.  incidentally, the cherry tastes a lot like cherry Jolly Ranchers.

What you can jam we call jelly.  End Quote

Jellies and jams are similiar but different.  Jellies are like jams with more sugars and preservatives in them.  Jams are more "natural."  Sorry... just bored and wanted to pass that along.  I will go back to my hole now...  ;D

Oh, that's good to know.  Is that distinction only stateside?
It's funny, we grew up with Welch's grape jelly, full of added sugars and other junk.  In the '80s, when companies started marketing products such as "Allfruit" and "Simply Fruit," I found they tasted just as good as--actually better than--the standard American jellies.  I can only conclude that it was cheaper to add sugars and fillers than to use 100% fruit product.
I'm still waiting for that all-natural peanut butter that doesn't taste like a blend of paste and sand.

"Allfruit" was made by Poliner (sp?), remember those commercials?  "Please don't call it jelly!"  "Simply Fruit" was made by one of the major jam companies, I can't recall which.  I preferred Simply to All, as Allfruit's texture was a little too slick.

I can't remember the name and manufacturer of this product, maybe somebody mentioned it previously, it came out in the early '80s.  It was a kind of chocolate sauce you poured over ice cream.  After you squeezed it out of the flexible bottle, it solidified into a hard chocolate shell, this product was called....?

It was called Magic shell, and it is still available at most grocery stores.

The wax bottles were my favorite as a kid...you would chew that nasty unflavored wax forever.  Incidentally, I had some not too long ago, that is truly a candy meant for kids...blech.
