Similarity:
The president is a sock puppet for big business and his administration are a bunch of war-mongering scoundrels!!!
;D

Similarity:
We have squandered the national largesse on tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans and corporations.

Difference:
In the '80s, serious economists (not Milton Friedman's Chicago crackpots) believed Supply Side Economics wouldn't work.  Today the trickle down theory has proven itself a fraud!

Difference:
Reagan knew what was going on, but acted like he didn't.
Bush acts like he knows what's going on, but doesn't!

Reagan was an idiot, but at least he had the excuse of being an old man that was suffering from alzehmiers disease.  To give Reagan some credit though, he at least came across like he knew something.

Now President Bush Jr., well he's just a flat out moron.  He's not even running the country, Dick Cheney and the rest of the Neo-Cons are.

Here is a big one that incorporates both:

80's:  Punk rockers all over Hollyweird, with outlandish spiked hair and safety pins through their noses, cheeks, eyebrows, ears, and the like.

Now:  Punk rockers all over Hollyweird, with outlandish spiked hair and piercings through their noses, cheeks, eyebrows, ears, and the like.
