Subject: Obscure Song Entitled:

Written By: Imissthe80's on 03/17/04 at 11:18 p.m.

 Hi all,
I'm fairly new to this type of search genre, but I'm looking for a very obscure track that I once heard in a tv commercial during the late '80's. I believe that it was in a GAP commercial, (I'm pretty sure that it was the GAP). It's an instrumental track, that plays in the background during the commercial. I have no idea of who it might be from, but it has a really cool, funky flavor to it,(sounding like from the 60's-70's era); a mixture of jazz, soul and funk, all rolled into one. I think that George Michael's song, entitled "Freedom '90", might be a remake of this lesser-known track that I'm referring to. If anyone here knows about what it is I'm blabbing about.......(lol), I would really appreciate your reply to my particular query...thank you very much.

 P.S.,
I'm decently knowledgeable in this area, so if anyone here might need any assistance of any kind, I would be more than happy to help out in whatever inquiries that I may know the answer to......feel free to drop me a line anytime...

 Hi Rubixgirl,
Yeah, tell me about it...(lol)! I know it's a toughie, that's why I'm still scratching my head over it. I'm pretty sure it's entitled: "Freedom". It might be from either the late 60's, or early 70's. Thanks for the effort and for replying, nevertheless....

 P.S.,
I'm new to this message board and I also registered. The thing is, though......I can't stay logged in, for some reason. I keep getting logged out, every time I change the page. How can I avoid getting logged out like that? I would really appreciate your reply.

 Thank you,

There is a box when you first log in that says "always stay logged in"...make sure that box is checked. If that doesn't work, I wuold ask a moderator.  :)

 Hi Rubixgirl,
I think that I found what was up with my "getting logged out" problem. Apparently, I had to adjust my web settings because I wasn't accepting cookies for this particular website. Well, I hope that fixes the problem....

Anyhoo,...(lol) I was just wondering if you had any idea of what song I was referring to in my first post, (title or band)? I'm stumped, but hopefully I'll eventually find out who that song's from... Maybe you can ask around here to see if they might have an idea....feel free to get back for any input.....thanks again.

I remember liking the music in the Gap commercials, but I can't think of the beat in my head right now. (too many voices ;) ) But if I do think of it I will let you know.

I think the song you are looking for is "Blow Up A Go-Go" by James Clarke.  If you go to:  http://www.songtitle.info/archives.htm there are a ton of songs that have been used in commericals. I hope that helps!   :)

 Hey Stingr,
Hey, I really appreciate your help for the link that you posted. Unfortunately though, that wasn't the song. I got to listen to it for a bit, but it wasn't the one, I'm very sorry to say... I really do appreciate the effort, though. I'll eventually find out who first came out with that rare track; but if you want, you can keep asking around to see if anyone might know of the band and/or the song. If you have any questions about a particular song, I'd be more than happy to try my best to help you out, if I happen to know it.....

 Take it easy,

No problem.  If anything comes to me or if I run across another source, I will run it by you.  Good luck finding the song!
