"Morrissey" and "Lollapalooza," whow woulda thunk it?  I never thought I'd hear those two words together.  Morrissey, Sonic Youth, and the Flaming Lips on one bill is an odd mix indeed!

Is Morrisey a group or just 1 person?

He's the lead singer of The Smiths.

It's cool to see him on Lollapalooza with all the other great  alternative bands. Only if The Smashing Pumpkins made a comeback.  :)

Though I thought Lollaplooza was defunct since 1997.  :-/

Yes. The Smiths were known for some hits like "Ask", "Boy With A Thorn In It's Side", and "How Soon Is Now".

And Morrissey went solo in the late '80's, around 1988, and had hits with "Last of the International Playboys" & "Suedehead".

I detest large festivals and Lollapaloozer is one of the worst. Morrissey has a habit of pulling out of shows at the last second so let's hope this is the case again.

I remember Morrissey on an exclusive radio station interview(KROQ-FM), he hardly did that at the time AND he played a couple of songs acapella..lucky for me, I had a cassette tape running!

They were also the voice of many lost, distraught, and lonely youth, and a cult phenomenon! They were also named "Most Influential Band Ever" by the NME. :D

...And probably his biggest solo single, "Every Day is Like Sunday." ;)
