Subject: Hair Bands: The Good, The Bad, & The Cheesy

Written By: woops on 03/24/04 at 04:48 p.m.

OK, remember hair bands? Either pop metal, glam metal, or thrash metal.

Here's some of my favorite hair  bands:  8)

Def Leppard
Bon Jovi
Motley Crue
Guns N' Roses
Whitesnake
Dokken
Poison (guilty pleasure)
Warrant (guilty pleasure)

Some songs I like:

Bulletboys "Smooth Up In Ya"
Ratt "Round & Round"
Faster Pussycat "Bathroom Wall"
White Lion "Wait"
Quiet Riot "Cum On Feel The Noize"
Night Ranger "Sister Christian"
KIX "Don't Close Your Eyes"

What's your opinion? Good or Bad.

As musicians, a lot of "hair bands" are vastly underrated.  Cheesy?  Sure!  But I would put their music against almost any genre.  You don't have to like it, but if you give it a listen, you will find some talented musicians.

I'm not the biggest hair band fan in the world, but I respect it and every once in awhile, I turn some of that stuff on and crank it up!  Some of my favorite hair bands are...

Bon Jovi (my wife's favorite)
Def Leppard
Guns n' Roses
Skid Row
Warrant
Scorpions
Whitesnake

Favorite songs
"Runaway" by Bon Jovi
"Round And Round" by Ratt
"Down Boys" by Warrant
"I Remember You" by Skid Row
"Girlschool" by Britny Fox
"Still Of The Night" by Whitesnake
"Home Sweet Home" by Motley Crue

True.

Like White Lion's guitarist Vito Bratta was compared to Eddie Van Halen, but wasn't well recieved because of the whole "image" thing.

And I also like some metal bands like AC/DC, Ozzy Osbourne, and Metallica.  8)

White Lion is my favorite Hair Band of all time.  I was absolutely in love with Vito Bratta.  I gotta go get out some CD's now.
