Subject: 80's films you can watch over and over

Written By: eightiesfan on 03/30/04 at 11:22 a.m.

Back to the Beach (Frankie and Annette's big comeback film, even though it's hard to find these days - I also love their beach films from the 60's)

National Lampoon's Vacation (the sequels weren't as great, in my opinion)
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
Fatal Attraction
Three Men and a Baby
just about any of the Police Academy films

Goonies!

I watch it almost everyday.  When I get home from work I just press play. It lives in the dvd. I dont sit and focus on it, cause I know it by heart, but I listen to it and glance at it while im doing other things. Odd, but it makes me feel calm.

Okay so Im a freak  ;D

The Lost Boys!  To me, it is the best 80's movie.  I've seen it over 250 times, no exaggeration.  You just can't beat Keifer Sutherland.   ;D

Another one that I watch just about every time it's on tv is The BeastMaster.  Guilty pleasure.

Dirty Dancing
Willow
Creator (a sleeper starring Peter O'Toole and Mariel Hemingway)
History of the World Part 1
Excalibor (don't know if this is 70s or 80s)
Revenge of the Nerds (the first one)

That's all I can think of right now. I'm sure I will think of a few more later on.

Ken Russell's "Lair of the White Worm" w/ Amanda Donohoe, Hugh Grant, and Chris Pitt from 1988. Because every time I watch it, I notice something new I hadn't noticed before.

For example, when we first see Chris Pitt, who plays a boy scout named Kevin, he's actively thumbing a ride. Which is an incrediblely stupid thing for him to do. Of course, as it is raining, he's wet and cold, and it is warm and dry in the car, and the car is driven by a beautiful woman. Still . . . ?
