Subject: Jessi's Girl lyrics

Written By: Wes on 2/3/1999 at 6:05 p.m.

Hi there. I am a giant Rick Springfield fan. I play the guitar and recently taught myself how to play "Jessie's Girl". So I decided I'ld better learn the lyrics so maybe I can perform it sometime. I sat down with a pen and some paper amd started listening. There were a few lines I just can't figure out. If anybody can get me a copy of the lyrics I would greatly appreciate it.

At the risk of incurring the wrath of Mr. Springthorpe's publisher, I shall now attempt to recite the lyrics to "Jessie's Girl." Hope I get most of them right!!!

Jessie is a friend/ Yeah he's always been a good friend of mine/ But lately something's changed/ And it's hard to define/ Jessie's got himself a girl and I wanna make her mine/

Chorus: Cause she's wathcing him with those eyes/ And she's loving him with that body I just know it/ And she's holding him in her arms late late at night/ I wish that I had Jessie's girl.

I'll play along with the charade/ Doesn't seem to be a reason to change/ You know I feel so dirty when they start talking cute/ I wanna tell her that I love her but the point is prob'ly moot/

Chorus...

And I look in the mirror all the time/ Wondering what she don't see in me/ I've been funny, I've been cool with the lines/ Ain't that the way love's supposed to be?

Chorus...

Lalalalalaalalalalalaa.... Is there more? I can't remember! Hope that helped a bit. Just remember to get the appropriate permission if you ever record it!!! By the way, has there ever been another song with the lyric "The point is probably moot" in it? It's a rather... um... unusual lyric, isn't it?
