Subject: Need a Song Title

Written By: Geoff Gander on 2/16/1999 at 10:18 a.m.

Hi everyone,

This is a tough question, but I was wondering if anyone could tell me who might sing the song containing the following lyrics, or give me the title:

"Soul City that's where we're headed [something I can't make out] Soul City that's where we're headed and we won't be back 'til the money's all gone."

I can't remember the rest of the song for the life of me, but the local radio has an all-80s evening, but they don't give the song titles or artists! :(

I *think* the same group/artist also sang the following song (and I wouldn't mind knowing the title to this one, too, if anyone can help - but I think the title is "Honest Man"):

"Every time you've been cheated Every time you've been misleaded by an honest man Yeah, to be an honest man..."

Any help anyone can offer would be great.

Geoff

The artist is the Partland Brothers. It was from the Spring of 1987, and that is all the info that I have.

The name of the song is "Soul City" but I can't remember the artist; I want to say ___?___ Brothers, and it was about 1987. I have that song recorded from the radio onto a blank tape where I have the title and artist listed. I keep all my hundreds of old tapes at my parent's house, I will find it next time that I visit my parents (they live 4 hours away), and will post the answer here when I find it (probably within the next month).
