No one can tell me, did Dr. Hook and the Medicine Show ever get on the cover of the Rolling Stone? If so, do you know which issue?

I think they did, because I remember hearing someone on some radio show comment that "Dr. Hook sang about getting on the cover of 'Rolling Stone' magazine and finally made it" or something like that. I can't help you with what edition, though...maybe if you go to the official RS site at http://www.rollingstone.com/ and do a search on "Dr. Hook", it'll pull up some information on them including a .jpg of the cover they were on and what # it was. Try it out...I know they have it for Duran Duran, so they should have it for Dr. Hook. :)
