Subject: MTV in the 80s

Im curious could MTV if they wanted to repeat various days from the 80s including the original VJs and promos (like Billy Idol doing his fist thing saying something like "MTV rocks" or the rocket ship)? IE does the video still exist? (Obviously the music videos themselves still do)

Im asking if it COULD be done not if it WOULD. Though I rarely watch MTV now I would watch this.

One of the best things that MTV has done in the past 10 years was the VJ Reunion that took place during Thanksgiving weekend 1990. For three glorious days MTV turned back the clock and brought back the original 5 VJ's - J.J. Jackson, Martha Quinn, Alan Hunter, Nina Blackwood and Mark Goodman to act as hosts. They showed plenty of clps of the VJ's from the good old days as well as great videos from the first five years of MTV's existence. Wouldn't it be great if they could make it an annual special. August 1st would be the ideal date since it was on that day in 1981 that MTV was launched.

I have two questions, the first is whether anybody can help me obtain a copy of "Do they know its christmas"-The official band aid video from 1985, any music stores or web sights for suggestion. My second question is whether anybody knows the artist and name of an 80's song with the following lyrics, "Boom,Boom,Boom, let's go back to my room,so I can do all night and you can make feel right." Please contact me for any information.

I wish they would, but I bet they probably won't.

Probably would not be hip or cool enough for them to do being the arbiters of style that they think they are.

which is funny, because cool is something Mtv hasn't been in easily 12 - 15 years.. I have a vote on the subject, check out the link at the bottom of the message.. personally I want them to bring back Remote Control, I loved that show...
