Subject: "Oh, God, it 's another day..."

Written By: M. Turyn on 3/24/1999 at 1:41 p.m.

That's how the song began--it was in rotation on KROQ-PAsadena in the early '80's (I can remember hearing it a t 2:00 a.m. whilst studying in the Spring of 1983). Who performed it? It was performed using the generic whiny Brit nuevo wavo voice, but I'm pretty sure it was a British hack, not a Merkin one.

Any leads? Please send them to me at my e-mail address, and thanks.

... And your stomach feels like a lump of lead You should never have eaten all that greasy good Your doctor told you that chilis were bad for your blood ...[bartender tells you] 'Drink up and leave.' [You finally get a girl, but you realise you forgot the rubber, and your mother will be mad, and make you wear your school uniform.]

It's by SOFT CELL of "TAINTED LOVE" fame. The song is called "IT'S A MUGS GAME" and just became available as an extra track on the import cd THE ART OF FALLING APART.
