Subject: song from sixteen candles

Written By: Amanda on 5/21/1999 at 2:42 p.m.

I wish to know who sang/title of a song from Sixteen Candles. It is in the dance scene, when Samantha is sitting on the floor in the hallway crying. Some of the lyrics are "Hello, Hello, hope you're feeling fine." This song is not on the soundtrack, and I could never figure it out by trying to read the credits. Any help would be great. Thanks

The song is "Whistle Down the Wind" by Nick Heyward made shortly after he left the group he founded - Haircut 100. The song is on his album "North of A Miracle" - one of my all-time favorite albums! Why this guy's solo career never really got off the ground here in the U.S. from this release alone is beyond me. He did very well with it in Britain. I have two copies of it (one on cassette and one on vinyl). You need to hear it, it is so clever and eclectic. It is a pop masterpiece. He still puts stuff out by the way. I'm not sure if this is available on CD; if not, hunt down the record at a used store. I guarantee you won't be disappointed. Let me know how you fared.

Thanks a lot. I'm going to look for that album as soon as I can.
