Subject: How did you do your 80's "big hair"?

Written By: Dawn on 5/29/1999 at 3:29 p.m.

I was going through my 1989 high school yearbook with my twelve year old neice, and she was absolutely amazed at the height of our hair! (Actually she laughed and laughed, I tried to tell her that my 'do was considered really cool but she called me a liar and laughed some more)

To prove my point, will any one else fess up to the fact that they had "big hair", and admit that it was a popular fad!

How would you describe "mall hair", I was trying to describe the consistancy of it. THe best I could come up with was cotton candy... but really stiff!

She couldn't believe that I easily went through a can of aerosol hairspray in a week, (she told me aerosol destroys the ozone layer, I had no excuse.)

So help me out and show her I wasn't the only one with "mall bangs" does anyone else have any "big hair" memories?

Subject: We fried it into place!

He he, I remember all too well the big hair! We would have a ton of mousse in it, then hairspray it, then FRY it with the curling iron, use a pick to seperate it,and hairspray it again! I remember one girl at school that we made jokes about...that she could knock you down from 3 feet away by turning her head! If you want to see a reminder, just tune in to any rerun of the show 'Designing Women'- Delta Burke usually had the style...
