Subject: One hit wonder

Does anyone know what ever happened to the group "Chillawack"? Not sure if the spelling is right. They had a hit called "My girl". Also known as the "gone gone song".

Chilliwack was from the town of the same name in British Columbia, Canada. They had enough hits in Canada to have a greatest hits. The US hit "My Girl (Gone, Gone, Gone)" was followed up by another top 40 hit, "I Believe," which my local station played. These 80's radio shows also think "Break My Stride" by Matthew Wilder was a "one hit wonder." If you are looking for the Chilliwack hit, there is a compilation (try cdnow.com) called "Barry Scott Presents the Lost 45's." That is the first time on CD for the song. Their record label went bankrupt which had a lot to do with it not being available. I would definitely agree that it was one of the best pop records of the 80's.

I think it's "Chilliwack," but according to the DJ on 80's nites...they never had another hit. It's too bad...what a great song!
