Subject: What do you do to "live in the 80's?"

Written By: Commander Keen on 6/21/1999 at 11:11 p.m.

I was wondering what things people do (if you're as nuts as I am) to bring a little 80's to their life each day...do you have an 80's room, or make 80's references, play Atari? Just curious.

I think to live in the 80s you can listen to retro tunes from great new wave groups. Don't forget to watch TV Land which is a great channel to watch retro-tv like Airwolf!! (Awesome) and other shows. To keep some 80s style in your fashion life, why not buy a cool pair of Ray Ban Wayfarer shades like the ones Don Johnson wore on Miami Vice. Keep the 80s alive, Personally, I hope in the next decade we have an 80s revival. Just the cool stuff (No big hair bands) It even if its just the '80s attitude of decadence and partying down' would be great!! It definitely was a fun time to be around!! :)

I listen to Night Ranger every day. That keeps me in the 80's. I prefer to call it "Hard Rock" music rather than big hair. Sure beats flannel wearing, no taking a shower for a month lookin' bands music all to hell. At least they had style! Long Live Headbangers' Ball!!!!!!

PS I also liked the British stuff like DD, Police, etc. That's the great thing about 80's music, it was ALL awesome!!!

I hear you. When I was growing up in the 80s I listened to New Wave and I listened to Def Leppard and Poison, etc. I sort of grew to like both kinds of 80s rock. I also used to watch V66, an old UHF music video channel in the mid 80s where I first saw videos like Depeche Mode's "People are People" Power Station,DD,and other stuff. I agree its all good, but there are a few bands which were pretty bad (Im not going to name any :) The Police are one of my favorites too. I hope they regroup someday!!
