Subject: mamas and papas--creeque alley

Written By: Jeff on 6/26/1999 at 11:54 a.m.

In the song "creeque alley" which contains the line that sounds like "and no ones gettin fat except mama cass"--i insist that years ago I saw an interview with john where he specifically said that is not the line although they laughed about it..does anyone know what the true line is? also it is a possibility that they did in fact sing it that way to be funny even though the actual words in the lyrics sounded very similar but were different. This is a tough one ive been trying to track down for a long time and if you listen closely to the cd what you think youve always been hearing actually could be a number of things..

I read Michelle Phillips' autobiography and in it are the lyrics for "Creeque Alley". They are as you stated.
