Subject: Two Guys named Martin, in COOL THREADS

Written By: Sparki on 7/1/1999 at 8:15 p.m.

There were two guys in the 80s, one real, one fictional, who had one thing in common. They were both named Martin, and they wore killer fashions.

The fantasy Martin was Michael J. Fox's teen character in "Back to the Future," and he sported that supercool dayglo orange jacket.

The real Martin was Martin Fry, lead singer of nu wave band ABC. In his video of "Look of Love," he wore this way rad candy-striped vintage-barbershop quartet looking jacket.

WHERE can I possibly get jackets like the ones sported by either of these two 80s Martins?

Hey Sparkster!

Best bet is to check out vintage clothing stores in major cities, preferably ones that had a rocking music scene in the '80s. F'rinstance, Canal Jean Co. in NYC sometimes has a slug of '80s clothing or mondo bizarro stuff come in. Worth a shot!
