Pat:

I know you probably get many nuisance requests for help. But this request is for real. My half brother and mom are related to you by marriage. My brother's name is Salvatore Piraro who is on disability and my mom's name is Sarah Piraro. She married your wife's uncle, Santo Piraro who passed away several years ago and --She only receives $850 per month and the Piraro family has indicated that they are unable to help them because of their poor finances. Mr. Sant o Piraro left my mom and half-brother with no insurance and ver little savings. She is 80 and on assistance and takes care of her son Salvatore Piraro who is very ill. He has bad kidneys, 3 clogged heart arteries, and a very aggressive form of diabetes. Neither can afford the medical and prescription drug bills that they have. Sal's medical bills exceed what Medicare covers by $1200 per month 9 months of the year. They are both in need of dire assistance. I contribute as much as I can and I have reached the point where I can't help any more than I am. My mom's phone number is 410-256-6049; her address is 9522 Perry Hall Blvd, Apt 102, Baltimore Maryland, 21236-1352. If there is anything you can do to help them please do. My wife has a rare blood disease and is doimg OK now because the Thrombotic Thrombocytopenic Purpura (TTP) is now in remission; but she had several relapse a few years ago and the illness can resume at any time. The bills related to this illness is the reason I am limited as to how much more I can help my mother and brother--your wife's relatives. My mom watches your show and often cries because she believes that if you knew her situation that you would do something to help. I hope and pray that you can help them. Please contact her and God bless you and your family.
