Subject: New Headers and Footers, site design

Written By: ChuckyG on 6/10/2000 at 12:36 p.m.

I'm in the process of changing the headers and footers on all the pages.. so if the site looks akward in a few spots, let me know..

I've got to edit a bunch of pages to change the 70s/90s links on them since they don't center properly.. but anything else you see, let me know about it so I can fix it..

I'm also going to lay out the main index pages differently... this weekend..

I like the new look. Much sleeker and less cluttered.

Well, other than just "getting used to the new look", I think it looks just fine!!

Looks good ChuckyG. I have a question. The text of the message titles were red, now they are blue. When I would read a message the titles would turn blue. Now they turn a darker blue (makes it hard to tell what I've read and what I haven't read. This is not that big of a problem, I would like to know if this is something you control or do I have to do something on my PC?

Also on the 70's and 90's boards the colors don't change at all when I chick on a title. Thanks for any answers to these questions.

I completely agree w/ TX on this one, ChuckyG. Something has to be done about the color of the "read" vs. "unread" message titles. Blue to darker blue doesn't cut it - red to light blue was MUCH better! :-) Ditto what TX said about the '70s and '90s boards not changing at all - that has always annoyed me, too...

Otherwise, I think the other changes look good... :-)

TX - very observant, I didn't even notice that LOL. But it must not be something to do with your pc since it's happening to me too.

I don't know why I did it this way, it actually has been these colors on the other portions of the site for awhile, and got copied over to WorcesterMass.Com where I still host the messageboard from the "old" days of 1998.. I think it had to do with websafe colors, but there are better choices for colors I can use.. I don't want to use "red" though, something else, since I use red for the hover effect in Internet Explorer (sorry Netscape users).. maybe a light blue-green.. I'll try something new tonight..

otherwise.. at least everyone likes the new design.. I miss the album covers/video covers, but they made the site load slower, so I dumped 'em..
