Subject: Duran Duran were best with their original 5.

Not to say that their later stuff wasn't good. It was! Just missed that special something, ya know? Their video compilation of Rio was excellent. I still watch it sometimes. The tape is holding up pretty well after all these years. VHS tapes were made better back then, it seems. They were heavier. Not that it makes any difference, but I have always been curious about something... ...their sexual orientation. Does anyone know and care to say?

Well, I believe all of them were/are straight. Nick was always my fav, although I did sometimes wonder about him LOL. He was married, but has since divorced. Not sure if he's remarried or not. I know Roger is married, Simon also. John was dating or is married. Not sure about Andy (but I never figured him as being homosexual or bisexual LOL).

considering that Simon Le Bon is married to super model Yasmine LeBon (and has three kids with her) and that Nick Rhodes has been married a couple of times to a couple of super models, I'm pretty sure they're straight.. don't let the eye shadow fool you... and the rest (John, Andy, and Roger Taylor) have all been married

Duran Duran were hot! And they are my most favourite band! I own the 2 Video CD edition of their greatest hits and well, their videos are fantastic! I hope they come up with some New Romantic songs again some day... Their new album is out now!

Yours, Tobi

I wish I still had a Beta VCR player to play my "Girls On Film" tape and "Arena". They're just collecting dust :( So are all of my 12" remix LP's. But I'll never get rid of them!!!

Duran Duran has been my favorite band since they released "Rio" in 1981. I was 13. I was always taking flak for having their posters on my wall (being a male)and liking their music (and I still do today!) but I never thought they were gay. Glam/New Wave was just the thing back then, you know? Anyway, they just released a new album on 6/13/00 Called Pop Trash. I plan on getting it VERY soon. You have to hand it to a band that has been putting out chart-topping music for over 20 years! I'm glad I stuck with them!!

P.S.: the original 5 were the best. I always secretly hope they'll reunite! :)

as much as I hope for a reunion, I'd personally rather see them team up with different people, like Santana did on his last album.. wouldn't a Trent Reznor/DD2 team make a really cool album?

if you haven't checked out Duran Duran's new website since Monday, check it out.. they relaunched with the music video from their new single.. in Shockwave format of all things.. it's pretty cool.. love the song

Yep. 'Someone Else Not Me' is a lovely song...cool video too (not that that should surprise any Duran fan :)). The rest of Pop Trash is phenomenal! It's one of their best albums in the past five years, in my opinion. Can't wait for the tour this summer!

A reunion tour would be absolutely fab - the original five haven't been onstage together since Live Aid, but it'll never happen. Why? Roger Taylor will never go for it. He even refuses to do interviews :( Whatta shame...
