Subject: Anyone recognize this song?

Written By: Chris on 6/16/2000 at 1:06 a.m.

Hi all,

I'm trying to identify the singer/title of the song lyrics below. The song I've been looking for a song played in the late 80's or early 90's. It was a pop romantic song. The singer is female voice and I think it had a stringed instrument in the refrain. The song might be called "My Heart Belongs to You" or "Love will Bring" but I haven't been able to find that song on either Amazon or on the CD-Now site(CD-Now has a neat free service where they will try to find songs for you but they couldn't find it). I definitely know the refrain is "and my heart belongs to you, there is no compromise, nothing to feel or hide." Here's a rather badly mangled recollection of the lyrics:

"Love will bring all the things that we choose to give it. And of everything loves the thing that we'll find forgiveness. And all that you believe is lost until you see in me or so it seems, and my heart belongs to you. There is no compromise nothing to feel or hide and my heart belongs to you and if you feel so bad think of the love that we had. You will see, love is the root of resolution and angry is only the road of desperation. And all that we believe is lost until we do believe or so it seems, and my heart belongs to you there is no compromise nothing to feel or hide ... and you can't find nobody else to share the sunlight or the darkness oh baby if I can't be with you, you've got to know that still my heart belongs to you. Theres is no compromise. Nothing to feel or hide. And all that we believe is lost until we do believe or so it seems. And my heart belongs to you..."

Thanks a bunch, Chris

Your "mystery song" is most likely "My Heart Belongs to You" by Russ Irwin, a moderate hit here in the U.S. in the Fall of '91. However, he was a male singer, not a woman (and coincidentally, from the town here in NY that I currently live in). It was off his 1991 album, simply titled "Russ Irwin". Unfortunately, the album is long out-of-print in all formats, although it was issued on CD here in the U.S...
