Subject: 80's music making a comeback in Boston!

Written By: Mitch on 6/16/2000 at 11:44 a.m.

To all you 80's fans in the greater Boston/Metro West/Southern NH area, WXLO - 104.5 FM is a great station for 80's music. Every day at noon they have the "Retro Cafe" which is an hour of 80's music. Then on Saturday nights, from 7:00 - Midnight, they have the "Awesome 80's". Five non-stop hours of the best music of the 20th century. Check it out! PS: Please contact the station and tell them how much you enjoy their 80's programming. Maybe we can get more of it. Maybe even an all 80's station!

Don't hold your breath on XLO. Since they are now owned by Citadel - the cuts in programming are coming. They have already eliminated the morning team and are surely looking to be more automated. They already destroyed PRO-FM in Providence. Check out what an all-80's station sounds like at www.wxxy.com out of Chicago and www.star1079.com out of Columbus, Ohio. I like Star better, but both stations are floundering in their cities ratings. I hope that XLO leaves the 80s shows alone too though.
