Subject: Spandau Ballett Greatest Hits

Is Spandau Balletts Greatest Hits available anywhere on CD? Does anybody know the track-list for songs on the TRUE album?

In the States, a Spandau Ballet Greatest Hits CD would consist of only one song, "True." I can't believe that one-hit wonder, that Canadian rapper named Snow, would have a greatest-hits CD when he only had that one hit, "Informer"! But he does have one! What's on there besides "Informer"? (Please don't respond; I don't want to know)

You should listen to 'the singles collection'(which was available in the UK on vinyl).Chant No1, Instinction, Communication and others are classics of their kind.

actually I have their greatest hits CD, and you're forgetting "Gold" which was their other big hit..

what's surprising is that Rick James has a greatest hits collection..

Good point, as I have the album, too. "Gold" was certainly all over the radio/MTV as well, and I also remember "Only When You Leave"...

Um, surely you jest, ChuckyG. On the U.S. pop charts, Rick James currently ranks among the top 500 all-time most successful artists in the rock era (i.e., 1955-present). That's higher than Men at Work, The Partridge Family, Paul Young, Peter Frampton, Sammy Hagar, and the Bay City Rollers (all of whom also have hits collections available), among other notables. Even more impressive, James ranks in the top 75 all-time on the r&b charts (1942-present). I listen to his various hits collections all the time. If you only remember "Super Freak", you clearly need to go back and give another listen to such classics as "You and I" (1978), "Mary Jane" (1978), "Give it to Me Baby" (1981), and "Cold Blooded" (1983), among others...

well, I do have the greatest hits album (on vinyl) and to be honest, all I recognized was Super Freak... maybe because the other hits predated Super Freak which is when I noticed him... how he ranks above the Partridge Family who had 8 top 40 hits, I'd like to know... and above Peter Frampton? come on.. who made that list, that album is the largest selling live album to date

He also had a hit with Smokey Robinson I love called EBONY EYES. It was one of the finest vocal performances Rick has ever given in my opinion. The video is a little corny though.

The Partridge Family had 8 Top 10 hits??! I only remember I THINK I LOVE YOU, I WOKE UP IN LOVE THIS MORNING and maybe one other.

Rick James is far more better and talented than the silly PF band, who save for David Cassidy, was nothing but a Milli Vanilli.

I hated MC Hammer for covering Rick James music, because he was probably the worst thing to come out of the 90s. But in tribute respect for covering Rick's music, kudos to him. But I think all MC Hammer saw were $ signs, like the rest of these rappers like Puff Daddy and such and now dare I say it even Jessica Simpson is covering John Cougar! Ewwww! I guess the teenybopper girl and boy bands have no new material to use anymore and they are starting to copy the rappers by covering music that came out when they were in their diapers.
