Subject: Incase you're wondering...

Written By: ChuckyG on 6/30/2000 at 9:57 p.m.

I have officially removed the links at the top of the site header for the 80s chat room.. I have completely given up on chat for the following reasons:

1. No one uses it

2. It breaks no matter who hosts it, what software runs it, etc.

3. People have nothing to say when they do go into a chat room ie. "Who are you, hello, goodbye, where do you live, Bon Jovi Rocks, how old are you" and that's the sum total of anything interesting

What will bring back chat? If I can find some reliable software, I might schedule a chat once in a while.. but the old "leave it running and see who joins in" solution isn't really useful.. to be honest, if you want to just chat online, I suggest ICQ or IRC or something like that, most people surfing websites aren't looking for interactive chat...

I'm also considering something new one of my new co-workers suggested, called human click.. but that would be a one way chat with just me, not real useful for multiple people chatting with one another
