I am putting data in my daughter's baby book about the year she was born--1985. I am looking for the following data:
Best selling books of 1985
Popular TV shows of 1985
Fas, Phrases, and Crazes of 1985

:I'm also working on a scrapbook for the 1983-1987 time frame and have some information to share with you. Being that I'm not doing 1985 specifically, the movies, tv shows & songs I found may not be exactly from 1985. However, the fashions I have from 1983-1987 may be of interest to you. I can verify that I was wearing these things in '85:
*big shoulder pads
*the "Madonna" look-bangles, crosses, black lace & big earrings
*Guess jeans
*Swatch watches
*Miami Vice look
*cardigans with big untucked shirts underneath
*stonewash
*purposely ripping slits into jeans (usually by the knees)
And, most people wore their hair very BIG. Punk and new wave looks were in-at least on campus (I was in college at the time).
We were doing a dance called the Smurf.
I think that may have been the year the space shuttle Challenger exploded, but I'm not sure.
