shows that taught thing to all ages from k-12 and appealed to all them, she-ra, he-man, smurfs, jem and the holograms, strawberry shortcake, rosepetal land, rainbow brite, even punky bruster.why aren't they aired as much as scooby do is.they showed have a channel that is all hanna barbera. im 26 people think that its funny that i want those back, well my kids should have better programing than currently shows, powder puff girls= the art stinks the chacters are odd, imaginations need variety not just the 3d action and high tech, why is past better than present? im a writer even though this message is not properly wrote. i can tell better than spell or put periods in the right place.iwish i could make my own show that would have been like the 80's cartoons to see if they would appeal to the kids of today.well yall let me know what you think and the shows i also feel would make good for todays kids. maybe we get the programing that cartoon channel wont even air as much as scooby do. hugs to hanna-barbera fans.

First of all, Cartoon Network is an almost all Hanna-Barbera channel. They also have a network called "Boomerang" that shows all of the old H-B shows.

Second of all, they are the "POWER Puff Girls", and the reason that they look so "odd" is that they are Anime and Manga influenced. As far as messages go, the PPG teach little girls that they can be just as tough as boys, and can kick just as much butt, even in a dress and Mary-Janes. I think that your memories of the old animation may be getting in the way. there were several problems with the animation of the 80s cartoons. Most of the art was far too rounded, and the motion didn't always match up to the backgrounds.

Don't get me wrong, I love the cartoons of the 80s. I even belong to a Kidd Video fan club, and run a Kidd Video radio station on the 'net. I just know that this argument will never end. We like the 80s cartoons because that is what we grew up on. My husband thinks that the 80s were terrible, and HIS cartoons were much better. I'm sure that my three kids echo his sentiment (I know for a fact that they hate Kidd Video). Let's just keep our memories alive, and let our kids make their own.

I also am not too fond of the cartoons being produced today, but I never cared for She-Ra and the others you mentioned either. I grew up on Scooby-Doo, Speed Buggy, Bugs Bunny, Josie and the Pussycats, and the Pink Panther. I turned out okay. I think we all see more redeeming value in the cartoons and telivision programs that we grew up watching. Nothing today is ever as good as it was when we were kids...
