Subject: jim ladd's response on 1984 : Behind The Music

Written By: james martin on 9/3/2000 at 10:27 p.m.

i was watching 1984: BEHIND THE MUSIC and the response that radio disc jockey jim ladd (i don't know if that was the same guy that had a radio show in the 80's called,"Inner-View"). he made a couple of statements that intrigue me, interest me, and some of it insults me. 1). "Don't Eat The Big White Mint, While You'll Be Trickle Down Upon". what does that mean? also, he said about Boy George, "A Completely Forgettable Human Being Because It Was All Style. I Don't Care About Style. You Know It Used To Be About Something Used To Be What Was Going On In The World Used To Be About Love Or Politics But It Was About Something". does the statements "Music Is About Something" and "Style Over Substance" drives you insane? to the people that say these things, "GET OVER IT!". it happened in the 80's, it did in the 90's (no thanks to Nirvana),it slowly coming back around. it may not be the same, but the music, clothes, memories and magic is coming back. by the way, what are your comments on jim ladd's cynical statement(s)?
