Subject: Pls help me ID these 80s songs!

Written By: Lilith on 9/17/2000 at 6:45 a.m.

A request from Italy, please excuse my bad english:

The first one is by a female singer, it seems a black voice, but I'm not sure.
It's a soul song, in the chorus the singer goes on singing "I go wild" and then "I really love you" and then, talking about the end of a love story, she says "... but I know those days are through".

The second one is by a male singer similar to Billy Ocean, I think the title is "Cinderella" but is not the one from Martinelli. The chorus says: "Cinderella, Cinderella why do you leave the feast when the night has just begun. Cinderella, Cinderella, just give love a chance ...".

The third song is by a rock group or singer - the chorus says "Too much in love for satisfy me ..." and then "I just can't wait to feel that heat again and in the middle of the night I cry" ...

I'm sure they're all song around 1987 - 1988 but I can't get to know title, singer and -obviously- I can't find the lyrics.

Who can help me???
Thanks in advance!

Lilith

Okay, John, I'll submit my best answer for #2; in fact, I think I got it! Lilith, I believe #2 is "Cinderella" by Geoffrey Williams, a minor r&b hit here in the U.S. from the Summer of '88 (it failed to cross over to the pop charts). It was off his 1988 album, "Heroes, Spies and Gypsies". Unfortunately, the album is long out-of-print in all formats, although it was issued on CD here in the U.S...

Although I'm pretty sure I've never heard this song before myself, not only does it fit your time frame perfectly (1987-88), but you mentioned the singer's vocal similarity to Billy Ocean, who is of Caribbean descent, and was raised in England. Well, according to one of my books, it just so happens that Williams was "Born in London of West Indian [i.e., Caribbean] parentage" - so I think that seals it!
