Subject: Married W/Children background song

Anyone familiar with the show? Of course. How about the episode where Al and Jefferson sell Marcie's Barbie? There was a song playing in the background when Al and Jeff were tracing the doll back on the streets - it was kind of jazzy (lots of saxophone); it's a really famous tune (and it does have a vocal track by a male singer - kind of soft). This song is played once in a while on smooth jazz stations (like KTWV and KOST in SoCal), but a lot of people can immediately recognize the tune, except they cannot name the singer/band or the name of the song. I know I've been bugging you guys for the past couple of weeks ,but it's just that I really have no one to turn to and you've all been pretty consistent. Thank you all in advance. Thank you Chucky G for providing all this. I am in debt to you all.

Although it's been about three years now since I last saw that particular episode in reruns (used to watch "M...WC" all the time back in the early to mid '90s), I do know the one you're talking about quite well (saw it at least 3-4 times). I'm going strictly by memory here, but wasn't it Glenn Frey's huge hit from the Fall of '85, "You Belong to the City"??? Truly one of the best songs of the '80s, IMO...

Hi 80smusicfreak! Well I never really got into this show but I sure love the song you're talking about here. I would have to agree with you that it is indeed one of the best songs of the 80's!
