Subject: cartoon called Simon
Does anyone remember a cartoon called Simon? It was about a little English boy who drew pictures and then the pictures he drew became real, and he became a part of them. For example, he would draw a picuture of a lion tamer and a lion, and he would become the lion tamer. There was a spoof on Saturday Night Live about this show, but I'm certain it was also a real t.v. cartoon show! Help - I need an answer!!

The cartoon was called "Simon in the Land of Chalk Drawings." Though it was run as a short in the middle of "Captain Kangaroo" in the 70s and on "Pinwheel" in the 80s, it was actually produced as its own program by Thames TV in the UK.

Simon was part of Captain Kangaroo. Mike Myers made fun of him on SNL.

it was indeed a real cartoon, it ran as part of Seseame Street I believe.. probably the only redeming part of the series (I was never a big fan of anything but the cartoon parts)

Actually it was part of Captain Kangaroo. I remember Captain Kangaroo narrating the cartoon.
