Subject: a christmas story soundtrack

Written By: bill barnes on 10/30/2000 at 2:47 p.m.

hey all,

i love the movie, and i love the soundtrack even more. peter and the wolf makes me think of ralphie. MY QUESTION IS THIS: does anyone out there know who sings the version of jingle bells that you hear on christmas morning on the radio? it's a 30's girl-group rendition... i envision the group being the _______ sisters (fill in the blank). kind of swingish. shoo-be-doo-be-doo-wop. any help would be greatly appreciated. it's probably just a matter of watching teh closing credits, but i don't have access to the movie. thanks again.

Billy,
Good guess! The song you asked about is by the Andrews Sisters with Bing Crosby. I heard the song a long time ago somewhere else and always intended to track it down. Your message inspired me finally to do it. I also found a sound sample of it at CDNow, just about 28 seconds of it, but enough to say for sure that it's the same song.

Happy Thanksgiving & Merry Christmas,
Carmen
