could anybody tell me what happened to the associates, they were absolutely brilliant, and i,d love to know if they are still going.

The lead singer, Billy McKenzie, committed suicide about 2 years ago. Terrible pity because I'm sure there would've been more excellent songs from his scottish group, The Associates. I think you can buy a compilation of all their hits (and then some) on CD with songs such as "Party Fears Two", "Club Country" and "That Certain Moment".

Sorry to have to break the bad news about Billy!

sorry it,s taken so long to reply to your response,i agree it is a terrible tradegy,as i am sure that you are right in saying that we would have heard a lot more from this group,and that the music industry has lost another talented musician and singer all to early.
