Written By: Stargate on 12/6/2000 at 1:14 p.m.

I have been looking for quite sometime for the artist and/or correct title.

I believe the song title is
"Living in the Limelight"

I can't find it anywhere and any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Do you know how old it is, what style of music is it? If it is Rock it could be "Limelight" by Rush off Moving Pictures from 81. If it R&B it could be "Living in the Limelight" by Glenn Jones off Glenn Jones from 87.

I believe it is Rock. I know it isn't Rush, that was one that I double-checked to be sure.
The chorus is "Living in the Limelight" so I am guessing that is the title and it is/was from the 80s.
I tried to find a midi/sample of the Glenn Jones version and even though it is on 3 seperate albums, I was unable to find an online sample which I thought that CDNOW would have for sure.

Thanks for your response, I appreciate it.

If it would help, you could try this site called the All-Music Guide--allmusic.com. That's where I get help with my music needs. Put something in the "song" box, and it'll give you the year each song came out. That should help. Good luck.

CDNOW does have a sample if you have Windows Media Player, that is where I listened to it. I don't think I have ever heard the song. It may not of had much air play because it is not on his Greatest Hits, it didn't make the top 100, and there wasn't a video listed for it at MTV (but he had other videos listed.) Good luck.

Here is the link.

First off I would like to thank everyone that responded to my request.
Secondly, After 3 days of searching ALOT of 80s music sites I managed to find what I was looking for.
It turned out to be a song by Peter Cetera but it was on his first solo album while he was still with Chicago. The problem was that the album was no longer in print so most music sites didn't have it listed.

Thanks again for all your input, it's nice to see so many 80s lovers are out and about.

Sorry I didn't see your post 24 hours earlier; I actually recognized the lyrics you quoted immediately. "Livin' in the Limelight" was Cetera's best solo hit, IMO. Although it was a huge top 10 AOR hit here in the U.S. in the Winter of '82, it failed to cross over to the pop chart. It had "top 10" written all over it for the pop chart, too. Most people immediately think of Cetera as a mellow singer, but "Livin' in the Limelight" was a really killer rockin' tune!!! (TX and others, check this one out!) Unfortunately, his 1981 s/t album, which contains the song, has never been re-issued on CD here in the U.S. I have the cassette myself, and still see it on cassette fairly often in my record-store travels...

I thought I was a Cetera/Chicago fan, but I must admit I don't ever remember hearing this song (downloaded it from Napster.) You are correct 80smusicfreak the song is quite good.

That is one of the things I like about this place, it introduces (or in some cases re-introduces) us to good 80's music we would have otherwise NEVER heard.
