Subject: Memories of 99 Luftballons

Written By: Adam Judge on 12/10/2000 at 7:34 p.m.

There is nothing quite like a one hit wonder to galvanize youth. I will never forget the first time I heard the Nena classic. It was like no other song at the time, except perhaps Safety Dance. There were a few of us a a friends place, and someone had just bought the single. They played it, and I was like wow, this is great, we couldn't get past the fact that some of the instrumental parts sound like someone is fast forwarding a walkman. Anyway got any memories of the first time they heard this song.
