The soundtrack that was released here in the U.S. for the 1984 movie, "Sixteen Candles", was actually just a 5-song EP. It came out on the MCA label, and featured songs by Annie Golden, The Geeks, Patti Smith, the Stray Cats, and the Thompson Twins. The EP was released on both vinyl and cassette. Unfortunately, the soundtrack is long out-of-print, and has never been re-issued on CD here in the U.S...

The soundtrack shows up on eBay in both formats, on occasion. The going price for either the vinyl or cassette appears to be about the same; expect to pay around $15-$25 for a decent copy of whichever version you prefer...
