Subject: The Pirate Movie
Hello...I dont know if anyone can help me. I'm trying to find information on "The Pirate Movie" (the really cheesy 80s musical with Kristie McNichol and Christopher Atkins). I'm wondering if anyone knows what studio released the film and/or if the film will be released on DVD?

Its a 20th Century Fox movie. They have no plans announced so far, but the movie does play on FXM - the Fox Movie channel sometimes. I saw it there about a year ago. I actually saw it at the theatre in 1982! Its awful, but I love it.

I have to agree with the "awful but love it" description of this movie.. for some reason people have been posting about it a lot recently.. so I broke down, went onto ebay and found someone selling a still new&sealed copy for only $30 (used copies were going for almost as much) it's just so much fun to watch and laugh at..
but I doubt very much they'll re-issue this on DVD.. although considering some of the stuff I've seen re-issued, I wouldn't be surprised if it does actually make it someday.. I just wouldn't expect it soon..
