Subject: Green Machine big wheel does anyone have a picture

Written By: dan on 2/1/2001 at 8:22 p.m.

Theres on ride on toy I had when I was a kid the green machine... a big wheel type toy that had two shifters in the place of handle bars. It was lime green and black. Does anyone have a picture? or better yet have one? I would pay $$$ for it. But Im thinking they are rare...anyway I want to get a hold of one for my kids.

I had one of those

Here is what I found, Empire Industries Inc. acquired the Green Machine concept from Marx Toys in 1993. They renamed it the "Big Wheel Sidewinder," Item #1804. I guess you can get one from Empire Industries. I went to there web site and it is under construction. There is a number you can call to check and see if they still have them:

Manufacturing and Customer Service:

Empire Industries, Inc.
501 Daniel Street
Tarboro, NC 27886-4000
Customer Service/ Consumer Sales:1-800-872-1869
Customer Service Fax: (252) 823-7891

This is the only picture I could find, and it isn't even green.

someone emailed me an excellent picture to use on the site.. and I never got around to putting it up.. I'll try and do it tonight when I get home..

I'd love to know if someone calls them and finds out anything useful..

actually.. I wish someone would find a way to make the ADULT sized type, like Galagher had on stage once.. I keep getting asked about it..
