Subject: Huey Lewis & The News: BTM

Written By: james martin on 2/2/2001 at 11:38 p.m.

This Sunday, VH1 will do a Behind The Music on one of the most successful, fun, happy, popular bands of the '80s: Huey Lewis & The News. This band is classic!!! & so are their songs: "Do You Believe In Love", "Heart & Soul", "If This Is It", "The Heart Of Rock & Roll", "Hope You Love Me Like You Say You (I) Do", "I Want A New Drug", "Perfect World" & 3 #1's: "The Power Of Love", "Stuck With You" & "Jacob's Ladder" which was written by an up & coming artist named Bruce Hornsby & his brother, John. This band hasn't release a new studio album in 11yrs. This BTM has got to give them the exposure push they need to get back in the spotlight & on the charts. Huey scored an a.c. hit last year with his remake of "Crusin'" a duet with actress Gwynneth Paltrow. Any comments?

Actually, their last studio album, "Four Chords & Several Years Ago", came out in May of '94 - less than 7 years ago. It didn't do as well as their '80s albums (their 1980 s/t debut not included), but it had a couple of "near hits" on it. Pick it up!
