Subject: '80's Video Game Arcades.

Written By: Britton on 2/4/2001 at 6:39 p.m.

What the hell happened to the arcades? Remember going to them arcades in the '80's that were like dark, dank dungeons? And all the cool games like Tempest, Galaga, Phoenix, Vanguard, etc. Now all arcades have are pachinko machines and ball games because they say games are too violent. Kids need games, it takes up time they would otherwise be using to get in trouble.

Where are you? Here in Seattle we have huge video arcades. In the suburbs we have Family Fun Centers with old and new arcade games as well as bumper boats, race cars, lazer tag, and VR rides and games. In the city we have all night arcades, some that sell alcohol and are for adults. And we have a chain of arcades called Game Works that are near most malls, as well as a giant, all encompassing, super Game Works near Nike in downtown. and for the up and coming gamer there is also Chuck E. Cheese a pizza place where a "kid can be a kid" and their parents can play old favorites like MS Pac man.
Look up arcade in your phone book. You may have luck. Good gaming.
